Sumario: | The power converter sytem for the transfer lines TI2 and TI8, with its 194 supplies powering magnets of 5.6 km total length between SPS and LHC, approaches the size of an accelerator. The control system for these supplies has a specification very near to that of the SPS due to the cycled current waveforms required from many converters. The necessity to have a coherent equipment operational early in 2002, leads us to adopt a fully developed and proven solution for the near SPS and near LHC components of the transfer lines. |
