Momentum cleaning in the LHC with resonant Extraction
A method for cleaning the uncaptured beam in the LHC using a third order resonant extraction is presented. The extraction efficiency depends mainly on the notmalised sextupole strenght and the speed at which the resonance is crossed. The calculation is compared with data measured on the SPS.
