Running the TOTEM experiment at 900 GeV per beam (Tevatron energy) in IR1 and IR5 for LHC Version 6.0

In this paper we present a study of the requirements for running TOTEM at 900 Gev per beam (Tevatron energy). A dedicated study of the geormetrical acceptance of the insertion optics in IR1 and IR5 for both rings of the LHC version 6.0 at this energy is included. The performance of the experiment an...

Sumario:In this paper we present a study of the requirements for running TOTEM at 900 Gev per beam (Tevatron energy). A dedicated study of the geormetrical acceptance of the insertion optics in IR1 and IR5 for both rings of the LHC version 6.0 at this energy is included. The performance of the experiment and its implications from the experimental and technical point of view are also revisited.
