Scattering of Synchrotron-Radiation Photons Off the Opposing Proton Beam and Associated Background Rate in LHC
We conservatively estimate the rate of background events that could arise from the scattering of synchrotron-radiation photons off the opposing proton beam in the LHC experimental insertions.
