Sumario: | A magnetic measurement system operating at room temperature in the firms is essential for acceptance tests to be performed before sending magnets to CERN. These tests are based on the quality of the integrated field and the dipole field (harmonics). Such a system is also useful for field measurements of the collared coils, to estimate possible deviations from the expected harmonics at the earliest production phases. This paper describes the DIMM system and its history, the method adopted and the performance observed based on the results of the magnetic measurements. A brief description of the status of the project and of known issues is given in view of future improvements. |
