Sumario: | Recently it has been realised that the main sextupoles used for chromaticity correction are not installed regularly in the SPS lattice according to the sixthfold symmetry of the machine. In this note we have compared phase advances, betatron functions, energy and amplitude detunings, resonance driving terms and dynamic aperture of the present non-symmetric lattice with those of a SPS lattice with a complete sixthfold symmetry. The results evidence the superiority of the symmetric configuration form the point of view of the single-particle stability. |
