description | In 1998 LEP will run using an optics with phase advances u_x=102o and u_y=90o in the arc cells. This note summarises the main results from the optics evaluation procedure that is now routinely applied to new LEP optics. This includes the study of the orbits, optics and dynamic aperture of an ensemble of imperfect machines with corrections similar to those applied in operation. It provides predictio ns of performance and results of measurements that can be done when the optics is ommissioned. A single SF sextupole family is used in order to provide a baseline for comparison of the effects or re-c abling the sextupoles. This will be treated in a subsequent note. |
