Design report of the QTG quadrupoles for the CERN CNGS line
This report presents the actual QTG design. The quadrupole magnets are part of the "CERN Neutrino to Gran Sasso" transfer line TT40. The design is optimized for a nominal beam energy of 400 GeV. The quadrupoles are resistive iron-dominated magnets with a gradient of 40 T/m and an inscribed...

Sumario: | This report presents the actual QTG design. The quadrupole magnets are part of the "CERN Neutrino to Gran Sasso" transfer line TT40. The design is optimized for a nominal beam energy of 400 GeV. The quadrupoles are resistive iron-dominated magnets with a gradient of 40 T/m and an inscribed radius of 22.5 mm. The 2200 mm long yokes will be built form low carbon steel laminations stacked between non-laminated end plates. |
