Azimuthally dependant space-charge effects in the SPS and LHC
In a partially filled accelerator, that part of the space-charge detuning caused by wall images varies azimuthally owing to the finite resistivity of the beam pipe. We calculate this variation for the LHC and the SPS used as LHC injector
