LHC Alarm System User Requirements Document LHC Alarm System/URD/WORD/ISSUE 1/REVISION 0

This document contains the initial user requirements for the LHC Alarm System, hereafter referred to as the LHC-AS. These requirements have been compiled from information collected from the, 'LHC_CP Alarm Service Survey', which was distributed to over 200 people. To capture the widest points of view, the survey targeted people involved in the complete alarm chain, from the point of alarm generation to that of the use of the information in the various control centres and equipment groups. As well as replies from the survey, certain centres of expertise in the use of alarm systems produced summarised, collective documents containing their points of view. All such information has been taken into account in compiling this document. The information in this document will be used to design and produce the LHC-AS.
