description | GEANT4, a new simulation toolkit, is now in use by the different sub-detectors which are currently being built and tested for the ATLAS experiment. The validation of the GEANT4 electromagnetic physics is done by comparing the response of the various modules of the ATLAS liquid argon calorimeters to electron and muon test beams to the results of GEANT4 simulations. Comparisons to the corresponding GEANT3 predictions has been done as well. This note presents the status of the work on this validation. |
