description This document concerns a contract to be placed for the supply of three beryllium UHV (ultra-high-vacuum) beam pipes for LHCb. Following a market survey (MS-2926/LHC/LHC) carried out among 12 firms in five Member States and two non-Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3264/EP/LHCB) was sent on 8 December 2003 to two firms in two non-Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received two tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm KOMPOZIT (RU) for the supply of three beryllium UHV beam pipes for LHCb for an amount of 921 300 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: RU - 100%.
