Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply, assembly and installation of superconducting links for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply, assembly and installation of superconducting links for the LHC. Following a market survey carried out among 48 firms in eleven Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3210/AT/LHC) was sent on 5 December 2003 to six firms in five Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders from three firms in three Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with CRIOTEC IMPIANTI (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply, assembly and installation of 814 metres of superconducting links for a total amount of 1 371 900 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT - 85%; FR - 15%.
