Sumario: | The beam injected into the LHC will have position and angle offsets with respect to the nominal orbit, which will have an impact on several aspects of the injection process. The various effects which contribute to the errors at the LHC injection point are analysed for beam 1 and beam 2. These include the performance of the elements in the SPS extraction channels, the SPS to LHC transfer lines and the LHC injection systems themselves. The overall performance of the beam transfer system is derived, in terms of the expected delivery precision of the injected beam, for random and systematic effects. |
