A multiturn measurement system for the CERN PS

Multiturn beam position measurements on one or more pickups provide very important information needed to derive machine optics parameters. A variety of analyses is possible, such as determination of phase advance, detuning with amplitude, and most important, the exploration of phase space. In this paper we present a new multiturn acquisition system for the CERN proton synchrotron (CERN PS) based on a compact PCI fast digitiser and a new general object-oriented visualisation and analysis tool for the acquired multiturn data.
