Status and prospects of the LHCb experiment

The LHCb detector and trigger have undergone significant revision. A summary is given of the re-optimized LHCb detector and the status of its construction. The measurement of the unitarity triangle angle gamma in a number of complimentary channels is also reviewed. (14 refs).
