Sumario: | The Analog Signals Working Group was set up by the LHC Controls Project in May 2002 with a mandate to review current plans for new signal monitoring systems, coordinate prototyping work in pilot projects and produce an accelerator wide proposal for the next generation of signal acquisition systems. Existing systems for analog signal acquisition and observation have been reviewed, including the present nAos system. User requirements, both for existing accelerators and for LHC, have been gathered from operations and equipment specialists. The resulting proposal is presented together with the status of prototyping work done so far. A number of objectives to be realized early on in the implementation phase are proposed. |
