Muon Identification and Combined Reconstruction inside b-jets 001

description | The muon identification inside jets is an important aspect of the muon physics at LHC. Non-isolated muons are predominantly produced by heavy flavour (b- and c-quarks) decays. For this reason, they can be used to identify jets originating from b-quark fragmentation. The main ingredient of the muon b-tagging is the correct muon identification. For this investigation, non-isolated muons were identified in b-jets produced by Higgs decays, H->bbbar-> μμ, where the Higgs mass was mH=120 GeV. The MUID procedure was used for the combined reconstruction of the muon tracks found in the Muon System and in the Inner Detector. To achieve such a goal, it was necessary to be used additional isolation and impact parameter analysis criteria. |
