description The study on Radio Frequency Ion Source is mainly introduced, which is used for CIAE 600kV ns Pulse Neutron Generator; and obtained result is also presented. The RF ion source consists of a diameter phi 25 mm, length 200 mm, coefficient of expansion <=5.1 x10 sup - sup 7 quartz discharge tube, a RVC200 valve of D sup + gas feed, a 108 MHz/s Rf oscillator, alloy Al canal geometry and an axial magnetic field. Its characteristic are small volume, high extraction beam current, small spot, long timetable work and repeated application. Main technology performance: extraction beam current >=3.5 mA, beam current on target >=1.5 mA, beam spot <= phi 8mm, stable working time >=100 h.
