description This note describes the analysis of the soft electrons and related b-tagging in the Higgs boson associated production WH events. It details performance obtained with the first implementation in Athena framework (release 7.8.0) of the softeBuilder algorithm (located in Reconstruction/egammaRec), dedicated to the identification of low momentum electrons. It is based on the matching between a track and a cluster from the electromagnetic calorimeter. The cluster is built from a collection of cells around the position of the track extrapolated to the calorimeter. An electron identification estimator is constructed using information from the inner detector and the electromagnetic calorimeter. The performance of this method is detailed on samples H -> jj (where j stands for b,c and u quarks) produced during the ATLAS Data Challenge 1. Comparison with previous studies, done with TDR layout, is also presented.
