description | epemto e^+e^- Z Z^0 plm ell^+ ell^- qqbar q_q Gcs GeVc^2. The reaction epemto HZ^ is used to search for the standard model Higgs boson, in a data sample corresponding to about 3,722,000 hadronic Z decays collected by the ALEPH experiment at LEP. Three candidate events were found in the Hmpmm channel compatible with the expected background from the electroweak process epemto lplm qqbar. When interpreted as coming from the signal, these candidates correspond to Higgs boson masses of 49.7 pm 0.5~Gcs, 51.5 pm 0.5~Gcs and 66.9 pm 0.35~Gcs. This results in an improved 95%~C.L. lower limit on the Higgs boson mass of 63.1~Gcs. |
