Sumario:The development of electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) for singly charged radioactive gases at ISOLDE/CERN was analyzed. The radioisotopes were produced by fission, spallation and fragmentation reactions which were induced by high-energy protons. It was observed that Mono ECRIS (MECRIS) ISOLIDE was intended for light noble gases with low ionization efficiency in ordinary plasma ion sources. The results show that ionization efficiencies for He and Xe injected through calibrated leak were less than 0.1 and 5%-10% which were similar to standard ISOLDE plasma ion source.
