Sumario:The development of 28 and 37.5 GHz which implies that very intense pulsed beams of medium charge states can be produced with an ECRIS, were investigated. These developments were made for Pb**n**+ ion production for the LHC. A program which used very strong ionic pumping effect to produce highly bunched beams of radioactive ions suitable for synchrotron acceleration for the CERN Beta-beam project was also developed. This development used two ERIS advantages of gas efficiency and bunching capability. (Edited abstract) 6 Refs.
