Sumario:Event-by event fluctuations in the multiplicities of charged particles and photons in 158 GeV Pb-Pb collision are studied as a signal of quark-gluon plasma in the WA98 experimental setup at the CERN-SPS. A model independent robust mixed event technique is used to study fluctuations of charged to neutral particles, which provide a measurement of disorientated chiral condensates (DCC). No statistically significant signal is seen for either the multiplicity or DCC fluctuations. An upper limit on DCC is set. (3 refs).
