Sumario:The Inverted CERN School of Computing is a follow-up to the CERN School of Computing organized by participants in previous editions of the CERN School of Computing with the support of the IT Department of CERN. This report contains the write-ups of lectures presented at the 2005 and 2006 editions of the school. The lectures cover two themes. The first theme contains lectures which introduce the main concepts of statistical learning relevant for high-energy physics data analysis, and a set of advanced computer algorithms from the area of computational intelligence and their applications to high-energy physics. The second theme contains lectures on computing-related topics such as parallel programming, software testing, and database development. All lectures are of interest to both particle physicists and computer scientists whose work is related to high-energy physics.
