Pile-up studies for soft electron identification and b-tagging with DC1 data

This note describes the analysis of the soft electrons and related $b$-tagging in the Higgs boson associated production (WH) events. The simulation, reconstruction and analysis are done in the framework of the Atlas Data Challenge 1. The introduction of pile-up brings the simulation results closer to the reality. Two analysis tools, the likelihood and the neural network method, are used to obtain the optimal performance.
