Sumario: | The Cell-Coupled DTL section of the LINAC4/SPL is designed to accelerate H- ions from 40 MeV up to 90 MeV energy and is situated downstream the Alvarez DTL. Following the change in the original acceleration range of 40-120 MeV to 40-90 MeV and some RF design changes in the Alvarez DTL, the RF and beam dynamics designs of the CCDTL have been revised. The present note deals with the beam dynamics design of the new CCDTL layout. The end-to-end beam dynamics in the Alvarez DTL+CCDTL is presented as well. The beam dynamics design is based on avoiding emittance exchange between the longitudinal and the transverse planes due to the space-charge resonance that would lead to an emittance growth and consequently to a beam losses. |
