Sumario:Experimental results on the reaction pp to (p pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/)(p pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/) detected with the split field magnetic facility at CERN intersecting storage rings are reported for energies between 23 and 53 GeV. The properties of the mass spectra of the two (p pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/) systems are analysed and evidence for double N* production is presented. (5 refs).
