Test of quantum electrodynamics by muonic atoms: An experimental contribution

Measurements of the X-ray spectra of muonic Ba and muonic Pb, 4-3 and 5-4 transitions respectively agree with the predictions of quantum electrodynamics to within about 10 eV. (14 refs).
