Sumario: | For pt.I see abstr. A54325 of 1973. The massive quark model is applied to one-particle inclusive cross sections at large p/sub T/. The author computes several different contributions, all characterized by power laws with different 'indices' and scaling functions. One of these contributions exhibits the p/sub T//sup -4/ scaling behaviour, but it appears to dominate only at very high s(s>10/sup 4/ GeV/sup 2/) and for very small values of omega /sub 1/ and omega /sub 2/. For lower values of s and small omega /sub 1,2/ one gets a p/sub T//sup -8/ behaviour for mesons with p/sub T//sup -10/ for baryons, while for larger values of omega /sub 1,2/ one finds that the contribution with n=5 dominates. A discussion of particle yields, multiplicities and structure of final states is also given. (11 refs). |
