Neutrino production of M/sup +/ and E/sup +/ heavy leptons II

For pt.I see ibid., vol.B84, no.2, 467 (1975). A theoretical analysis is made of possible experimental searches for the production of M/sup +/ heavy leptons in inclusive neutrino reactions by detection of their decay into mu /sup +/. Distributions of observable energy E/sub obs/ (sum of hadron and m...

description For pt.I see ibid., vol.B84, no.2, 467 (1975). A theoretical analysis is made of possible experimental searches for the production of M/sup +/ heavy leptons in inclusive neutrino reactions by detection of their decay into mu /sup +/. Distributions of observable energy E/sub obs/ (sum of hadron and muon energies) and the apparent y variable y/sub obs/(y/sub obs/=E/sub had//E/sub obs/) are presented. These distributions are used to discuss the problem of distinguishing M/sup +/ production from effects of antineutrino admixtures in a neutrino beam. (3 refs).
