Sumario: | Part I of this paper defined the pulse load characteristics as seen by the EDF power supply network. Actual operating experience of cyclically pulsating loads of this type is negligible, therefore the authors consider the three main characteristics of the CERN pulse load which may affect the behaviour of the system: (i) the periodicity, generally around 4 sec; (ii) the peak power; (iii) the rate of power variation at the sharp front (i.e. the transition points of the magnet pulse-rise/flat and flat/decay).
