Real-time network for the control of a very large machine

Concerns the problem of how the real-time systems communicate from computer to computer. A point to point protocol minimizing the data flow is explained. A simple transport station procedure is then described, which provides asynchronous access to all resources in the network with messages being sent from source to destination without any special prior agreement.
