Sumario: | The particle production in thick targets of carbon, aluminium, and copper, hit by 50 MeV protons, has been studied with activation detectors. The measured angular distribution of secondaries around the targets was compared with calculations making use of semi-empirical formulae proposed by Alsmiller et. al. In general, the agreement between experiment and theory is good, except for large angles where the experimentally found production of secondaries is greater than predicted by the calculation.
