Search for rho -like vector mesons in the mass range (1.2-3.0) GeV
The question 'do rho -like vector mesons exist in the 1.2-3.0 GeV mass range' is considered. Two possibilities for the rho -like vector meson states are discussed: i) a vector meson not related to any recurrence theory (i.e. a vector meson having a width like rho and decaying into 2 pi ),...

Sumario: | The question 'do rho -like vector mesons exist in the 1.2-3.0 GeV mass range' is considered. Two possibilities for the rho -like vector meson states are discussed: i) a vector meson not related to any recurrence theory (i.e. a vector meson having a width like rho and decaying into 2 pi ), ii) a vector meson with width given by the recurrence theory Gamma /sub rho n/=(2n+1)/sup 1/2/ Gamma /sub rho /. By analysing e/sup +/e/sup -/ colliding beam data it is shown that the production cross section limit of rho -like vector mesons is more than ten times below that of the known rho -meson. (8 refs). |
