A gain regulation system for a large set of photomultipliers using light-emitting diodes and optical filters
Describes the solution adopted for the on-line gain regulation with a PDP 11/60 of the 480 photomultipliers of the calorimeter of the experiment NA5 (at CERN) by means of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and polymer optical fibers. The regulation of the light yield of the LEDs is obtained comparing it t...

Sumario: | Describes the solution adopted for the on-line gain regulation with a PDP 11/60 of the 480 photomultipliers of the calorimeter of the experiment NA5 (at CERN) by means of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and polymer optical fibers. The regulation of the light yield of the LEDs is obtained comparing it to the light pulse of a NaI scintillator doped with /sup 241/Am. (6 refs). |
