Measurement of disturbance induced in the EDF power system by the pulsed supply of the 400 GeV accelerator of CERN

A synthesis is presented of measurements made at Bugey nuclear power station and at Genissiat substation (400 kV) to assess the level of disturbances induced in the power system by the pulsed supply of the proton synchrotron of CERN. Decisions concerning connection of the installation with the 400 kV network and the efficiency of the precautions taken to limit the disturbances to an acceptable level are discussed. (0 refs).
