Factorization of the pomeron sector and currents in the dual resonance model

Sumario: | The pomeron sector of the dual resonance model is exhibited by an explicit factorization of the non-planar orientable one-loop graph. A pomeron propagator and a pomeron-reggeon vertex are obtained. The pomeron propagator is shown to be essentially the same as in the Shapiro-Virasoro model. Gauge properties of the pomeron-reggeon vertex allow us to construct conserved or partially conserved vector and tensor currents of arbitrary rank and to exhibit a ghost-killing mechanism.
