SU(3) and the $\Sigma (1385) \pi$ decay mode of the $D_{03}$ resonances

By assuming the existence of a second octet with J/sup P/=/sup 3///sub 2//sup -/whose couplings are related via SU(6)/sub w/*O(3) to those of the established /sup 3///sub 2//sup -/ 'nonet', the authors reconcile recent measurements on the Sigma (1385) pi decay modes of the D/sub 03 /KN resonances with their other partial widths. The predicted properties of the third as yet unobserved D/sub 03/ state raise important questions regarding the measurement of resonant parameters. (8 refs).
