Sumario:Data on the process pp to pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ or K/sup +/K/sup -/, with antiprotons stopped in a liquid-hydrogen target, were taken in a counter experiment at the CERN Proton Synchrotron. A fraction of these annihilations occurred during the slowing down of the antiprotons in the target at an average momentum of 300 MeV/c. From these events, a cross-section at 300 MeV/c is deduced. It is noted that cross-sections for pp annihilations into pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ or K/sup +/K/sup -/ are known only down to 400 MeV/c antiproton momentum. (5 refs).
