New information about the kaon-nucleon-hyperon coupling constants g(KN Sigma (1197)), g(KN Sigma (1385)) and g(KN Lambda (1405))

A one-nucleon-exchange model is used to extract the kaon-nucleon-hyperon coupling constants from these results. For g(KN Sigma (1197)), g(KN Sigma (1385)) and g(KN Lambda (1405)) values are found which are compatible with the SU(3) predictions. The coupling constant g(KN Lambda (1520)) obtained by this method agrees with that determined from the partial decay width for Lambda (1520) to KN. (17 refs).
