Sumario: | Reviews recent discoveries in the field of particle physics and places them in a theoretical framework. Then shows what is to be expected from the CERN SPS, and from the Fermi laboratory in America where a machine analogous to the SPS is already in service. Better secondary beams should improve our knowledge of lepton-hadron scattering processes, thus providing information about hadron structure and also, with v-scattering, on weak interactions. More should also be learned about proton-proton scattering. (0 refs). |
