Energy dependence of the p-/sup 4/He optical model from intermediate- energy elastic-scattering experiments

The results of a systematic analysis of p-/sup 4/He elastic-scattering experiments at energies above 500 MeV is presented. The optical-model potentials, obtained by fitting data from UCLA-LBL, SACLAY, and CERN, as well as the older experiments from SREL and Brookhaven, show some of the characteristi...

description The results of a systematic analysis of p-/sup 4/He elastic-scattering experiments at energies above 500 MeV is presented. The optical-model potentials, obtained by fitting data from UCLA-LBL, SACLAY, and CERN, as well as the older experiments from SREL and Brookhaven, show some of the characteristics associated with optical potentials determined from data at lower energies. It is found that the volume integral per nucleon and the rms radius of the real central optical potential are well determined by the analysis. (26 refs).
