Two-component Pomeron and hadron total cross sections and real parts

The two-component Pomeron model which describes hadron-nucleon cross sections as the sum of a Regge term and two Pomeron-type components and whose parameters are determined from the 2 to 200 GeV/c data agrees with the CERN ISR proton-proton data and with the cosmic ray data up to 40000 GeV/c. Predic...

Sumario:The two-component Pomeron model which describes hadron-nucleon cross sections as the sum of a Regge term and two Pomeron-type components and whose parameters are determined from the 2 to 200 GeV/c data agrees with the CERN ISR proton-proton data and with the cosmic ray data up to 40000 GeV/c. Predictions for the ratios of real to imaginary parts of pi /sup +or-/p, K/sup +or-/p and p/sup +or-/p forward amplitudes are presented. (4 refs).
