Sumario: | Summary form only given, as follows. Charm production has been observed in two data samples obtained at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR) using the split field magnet detector. Signals were observed in different mass distributions at square root s=52.5 GeV: forward K/sup -/ trigger (1,2) D/sup +/ to K*/sup 0/ pi /sup +/, Lambda /sub c//sup +/ to K*/sup 0/p and Lambda /sub c//sup +/ to K/sup -/ Delta /sup ++/ at square root s=62.5 GeV: electron and positron trigger at Theta approximately=90 degrees ; Lambda /sub c//sup +/ to K /sup -/ pi /sup +/p and D/sup 0/ to K/sup -/ pi /sup +/ associated with an e/sup -/ trigger; and Lambda /sub c/ to K/sup +/ pi /sup -/p associated with an e/sup +/ trigger. In the electron trigger case, the cross sections C Lambda /sub c//sup +/ and D/sup 0/D/sup 0/ are summarized in a table assuming (Sajot, 1980); E(d/sup 3/ sigma )/(d /sup 3/p) varies as (1)/(Y/sub max/))f(Y)/(Y/sub max/)e/sup -ApT/, A=2. (GeV/c)/sup -1/, B(D/sup 0/ to e..)=8%, B(C to e/sup -/...)=10%, B(D/sup 0/ to K/sup -/ pi /sup +/)=2.6%, B(G/sub c//sup +/ to K/sup -/ pi /sup +/p)=2% (the errors are estimated to be of the order of 40%).
