description The reaction pi /sup -/p to K/sub s//sup 0/K/sub s//sup 0/n was studied at an incident momentum of 3.95 GeV/c using data from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment corresponding to 90 ev/ mu b. The authors measured the cross section of the reaction pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ to K/sub s//sup 0/K/sub 2//sup 0/ in the S*(990) region and found an elasticity eta /sub 0//sup 0/ approximately=0.6. The isotopic spin and production properties of the S wave in the 1.3 GeV region were discussed. (17 refs).
