Sumario:The CERN-IHEP Boson Spectrometer (CIBS) has been operating at Serpukhov (1970/72) to investigate the inelastic reaction pi /sup -/p to p+missing mass at P/sub inc/=25 and 40 GeV/c. Since the beam also contained kaons and antiprotons, elastic K/sup -/p and pp events were continuously recorded. Elastic pi /sup -/p events were accepted for a few hours per day of running, in order to check the instrumental resolution and stability. The authors report on results on the elastic diffraction scattering in the momentum transfer interval 0.10< mod t mod <0.40 (geV/c). (20 refs).
