Possible alpha-particle cluster absorption of pions by $^{16}O$
It is shown that /sup 12/C 4.44 MeV gamma -rays result from pi /sup -/ absorption at rest in /sup 16/O. The /sup 12/C recoil momentum distribution was determined from the Doppler-broadening and compared with (p, p alpha ) measurements on /sup 16/O. (10 refs).
