Sumario:The Omega project is a detector arrangement to be used on the CERN 25 GeV and 300 GeV proton synchrotrons. The Omega detector provides optical information on particle trajectories in a magnetic field of 14 m/sup 3/ volume, containing a 3.70 m long spark chamber with TV cameras to record the events in the chamber. The information gathered by the TV cameras is converted into numerical signals, which can be passed through computers, or recorded on tape, or reconstructed into a TV display.
