ISR single-particle distributions at x=0 and the dual B/sub 6/-model with Pomeron background modifications
One of the very interesting aspects of the x=0 single-particle distribution for the reactions p+p to c+anything, c= pi /sup +or-/, K /sup +/, p, p, measured at the CERN ISR is the approximate linearity in the transverse momentum p/sub perpendicular to / of the logarithm of the invariant Feynman func...

Sumario: | One of the very interesting aspects of the x=0 single-particle distribution for the reactions p+p to c+anything, c= pi /sup +or-/, K /sup +/, p, p, measured at the CERN ISR is the approximate linearity in the transverse momentum p/sub perpendicular to / of the logarithm of the invariant Feynman function f(x=0, p/sub perpendicular to /)=E.d /sup 3/ sigma /dp/sup 3/ for the region 0.14<p/sub perpendicular to /<1.3 GeV. It is pointed out that these results are compatible with the predictions of the dual B/sub 6/-model if appropriate pomeron background modifications are taken into account. (15 refs). |
